Recent Travels
Although I am not generally commissioned to undertake travel and landscape assignments, traveling is in my blood and naturally some of the tools of my trade go with me.
Finland
The following images were taken on a trip to Finland in February 2008, some 300kms north of the Arctic Circle. With only 6 hours of daylight and temperatures of -20 to -15 degrees C the photographic challenges were rather different from those I normally encounter.

Northern Lights
I had thought on this particular night that the Northern Lights would be reluctant to show. However, they suddenly decided to make an appearance. Over a period of just 3 or 4 minutes they danced round the sky before disappearing. I was able to make a series of 30 second exposures capturing the fast changing nature of this fantastic spectacle!
